Imagen a Texto — OCR Gratis, Sin Subida, 100% Privado

- Drop Your Photos: Drag photos in (PNG/JPG/WebP/HEIC), paste from clipboard, or use the file picker. Most phones produce JPG photos 1-5 MB — our tool handles images up to 50 MB without compression.
- Pick Language Pack: Choose English by default, or add packs for non-English content. For handwritten notes in mixed Latin + Chinese / Japanese / Korean, select the multi-language option for best recognition.
- Extract Text: Click 'Extract'. Tesseract.js processes the image in your browser via WebAssembly. A typical phone photo (3000x4000 px) extracts in 3-5 seconds on a modern device.
- Copy or Save: Read the extracted text in the result panel. Copy to clipboard, download as .txt, or send directly to another app. For preserving photo + text together as a PDF, use our Image to PDF converter.

Preguntas Frecuentes
How do I extract text from a photo?
Open our Image to Text tool on your phone or laptop, snap a photo or pick one from your gallery, click 'Extract', and the text appears. We use Tesseract.js WebAssembly so photos are processed entirely on your device — they never get uploaded.
Does it work for handwritten notes?
Yes — though accuracy depends on handwriting clarity, pen contrast, and lighting. Neat printed-style handwriting achieves 90-95% accuracy with our OCR. Cursive or stylized fonts may drop to 70-80%. For best results: use black pen on white paper, photograph straight-on (not at an angle) with even lighting.
What about business cards?
Our OCR handles business cards well because they're typically high-contrast printed text. After extraction, you can copy the name/email/phone fields into your contacts. For structured extraction, we recommend CardDAV-compatible CSV export tools.
Is my photo uploaded to any server?
No. The OCR runs entirely in your browser. Photos are processed locally and never leave your device. This is critical for sensitive documents: ID cards, medical records, financial statements, internal notes, and personal correspondence.
Can it extract tables from photos?
For simple tables with clear cell borders, we can preserve cell boundaries in the output. For complex merged cells or visual-only layouts, you'll need to format the extracted text manually. For better table handling, consider dedicated OCR apps like Microsoft Lens or Adobe Scan.
Does it support HEIC (iPhone photos)?
Yes — modern browsers decode HEIC natively. If your browser doesn't support HEIC, convert photos to JPG first via the iOS share sheet. Most desktop browsers (Chrome 90+, Edge 90+, Safari 14+) handle HEIC out of the box.
What's the best free photo-to-text app?
Our tool is one of the best free options because: (1) runs entirely in your browser (no upload, no app install), (2) supports 10+ OCR languages, (3) works on phone and desktop, (4) zero daily limits and zero watermarks, (5) handles HEIC photos natively.
