- Upload PDF: Drag any PDF in. Each page becomes a separate PNG at your chosen DPI. Works for single-page and multi-page documents alike.
- Choose Resolution: Pick DPI: 72 (smallest, screen-size), 150 (standard, balanced), 200 (sharp previews), or 300 (print-quality). Files at 300 DPI are 4× larger than at 150 DPI but print-ready.
- Optional Settings: Choose transparent background (preserves PDF transparency, useful for graphics) or white background. Set naming convention: page-001.png, page-002.png, etc.
- Render & Download: Click 'Render to PNG'. Each PDF page is rasterized in your browser. A 10-page PDF at 200 DPI completes in 20-40 seconds. ZIP downloads with all PNGs.

Can I convert PDF to PNG at 300 DPI?
Yes — our PDF to Image tool supports up to 300 DPI PNG output. Drop your PDF, pick 'PNG' as format and '300' as DPI, click 'Render'. You get a ZIP of 300 DPI PNGs ready for print or high-resolution display.
What's the difference between JPG and PNG output?
PNG is lossless — every pixel is preserved exactly. Output files are larger but quality is identical to the source. JPG uses lossy compression — output is smaller but loses fine detail. For screenshots, diagrams, text-heavy pages: PNG. For photos and small previews: JPG. For print: PNG at 300 DPI is the gold standard.
How big is a 300 DPI PNG of a PDF page?
A standard Letter or A4 page at 300 DPI is roughly 2550×3300 pixels — about 1-3 MB per page for text-heavy content, 5-15 MB per page for image-heavy pages. A 10-page text document: 10-30 MB. For photos and graphics-heavy PDFs, file sizes grow quickly. Compress the ZIP if needed after download.
Will my PDF be uploaded?
No. pdfjs-dist processes every page locally. For sensitive documents (design contracts, exam papers, unpublished research), the PDF and resulting PNGs stay on your device.
What about transparent backgrounds?
PDF pages have a defined background (typically white, but transparent for some design assets). Our output uses white background by default. To preserve PDF transparency (when present in the source), toggle 'Transparent background' — output PNGs then have transparent backgrounds for compositing.
Can I get WebP instead of PNG or JPG?
Yes — for modern web use, choose 'WebP' as output. WebP produces 25-35% smaller files than JPG at the same visual quality, and is supported by all modern browsers. For graphics with transparency, WebP also supports alpha channel like PNG.
