How do I trim whitespace from a PDF?

Open our PDF Crop tool, drop your PDF, choose 'Auto-trim' (smart whitespace removal) or set specific insets, preview the result, and save. The trimmed PDF has tighter page bounds — no upload, fully local processing.

Will auto-trim accidentally remove content?

Auto-trim only removes whitespace based on visual content boundaries. It identifies the bounding box of all text/images on the page and trims to that edge (with a small configurable safety margin). For documents with content extending close to page edges, set a small symmetric inset to ensure safety. Always preview before saving.

Can I trim scanned PDFs cleanly?

Yes — this is exactly the use case our tool targets. Scanned PDFs often have inconsistent borders due to multi-pass scans, photocopy chains, or different paper sizes. Auto-trim normalizes them all to the content boundary, giving you uniformly tight pages.

Does it preserve annotations and form fields?

Annotations respect the new page bounds (visible only where they fit). Form fields stay in the document but are clipped to the new view if they extend beyond. Preview the trim to spot these issues before saving — adjust to be more conservative if needed.

Will my PDF be uploaded?
