No. Watermarks are applied entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Your files never leave your device — you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool will still work fully offline.

You'll be prompted for the password. Decryption happens locally in your browser and the password is never sent to any server. After unlocking, the watermark is applied normally.
Watermarks are permanently merged into the PDF content. We recommend keeping a copy of the original PDF before applying watermarks, so you can go back if needed.
