Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The entire conversion runs locally in your browser using pdfjs-dist and the docx library. Your file never leaves your device — you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool will still work fully offline.
Will the Word file look exactly like my PDF?
The converter uses smart layout detection to recover paragraphs, headings, bold runs, and page breaks. For best results, use PDFs with selectable text (not scanned images). Does it work on scanned PDFs?

Which Word editors can open the result?
The output is a standard .docx file that opens in Microsoft Word (2007 and newer), Apple Pages, Google Docs, LibreOffice Writer, and any other editor that supports the OOXML format. You don't need Microsoft Office installed to use the result.
What about tables, images, and footnotes?
Text inside tables and footnotes is recovered line by line. Tables are not rebuilt as Word tables — they appear as paragraphs in reading order. Embedded images and complex graphics are not extracted. For a layout-perfect Word file, use a desktop tool like Adobe Acrobat; for everything else, our converter produces a clean, editable .docx in seconds.
What if my PDF is password-protected?
You'll be prompted for the password. Decryption happens locally in your browser and the password is never sent to any server. After unlocking, the conversion proceeds normally.
